Here at Radio Wirral, we want to shout about the Wirral’s Frontline heroes!
Since COVID-19 hit we know that it has kind of stopped the world from turning for a lot of people. From abiding by social distancing rules to being housebound to even losing people we know and love – it has been a big change and challenge. But this hasn’t stopped us from coming together to support neighbours, communities and even local businesses.
We have seen so much love and generosity from so many people on the Wirral. We have seen communities pull together, people volunteering, and the Wirral lit up by rainbows! We’ve seen businesses adapting their services by offering contactless home delivery or discounts to key workers, we’ve had virtual zoo lessons from Chester Zoo and more people than ever are doing things to raise money for local charities, including children getting involved and selling homemade crafts. We even housed the first two groups of people as they self-isolated at Arrowe Park.
So, we think it’s about time that we call these people out individually, give them some virtual recognition and spread some positive messages. So, if someone has done something for you or made your life that little bit easier, let us shout about it for you.
We know a virtual pat on the back is nowhere near enough to give thanks to these people, but it is a start. We want stories about nurses, doctors, educational workers, retail workers and everyone else in between. No action is too small or too big to share and say our thanks to.
All you have to do is submit your story below and we will pick some to share. If you have a picture, then feel free to submit that along with your story. We can’t wait to read all your amazing stories!
